Benetas was established in when a small group of volunteers from the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne responded to an urgent need to provide care and support to older Victorians. As a not-for-profit, all revenue we generate is re-directed into our services to improve the lives of our clients. We can respond quickly to requests for in-home care support, through our government-funded community care services or via Benetas at Home, our private service which has no waiting list. Our mix of residential care, in—home care, respite care and housing services ensures our residents and clients can stay with us and move between our different services as and when they need them. We also provide specialised care and expertise in dementia, palliative and culturally appropriate care for people from non-English speaking backgrounds.

We offer an extensive range of home care services and funding options to suit your individual circumstances. Recognising the need for extra support can be a big step, both for people who need care and carers themselves. Remember, the goal of home care is to help you or your loved one stay independent and continue doing what makes you, you; all from the familiar surrounds of your own home.

Research has shown that receiving professional support lowers the risk of entering permanent care and can extend quality of life. We can help you get started. Call 23 63 82 to speak to a friendly member of the Benetas team. As we age, we sometimes need care providers like Benetas to complement that support. Benetas offers an extensive range of services tailored to meet your unique needs and goals.

You can access Home Care services for the short term or long term, through a day program or overnight. We want to help you understand all the options on the table that could let you or your loved one live at home for longer.

Applying for a Home Care Package might seem complicated, but with some guidance, we can make it a little easier for you.

You'll first need to complete a referral to My Aged Care. When a Home Care Package at your level has become available, this will be assigned to you. Then you can begin to receive extra support at home. Call us on 23 63 82 for a free consultation. The government assessment process can take time, so if you need services immediately or don't want to wait, you could consider privately funding your home care as an interim measure. You can also top up your package or government funding with additional privately funded services if you wish.

Other options for short term care include in-home nursing and respite services. Are you or a loved one in need of temporary care? Maybe you or they have just returned home from a hospital or rehabilitation centre, and need extra support while recovering. A short spell of assistance could involve home care services, in-home nursing or respite care. These services are usually self-funded , but can be government subsidised in certain situations.

Benetas private home care can support you or your loved one through a period of transition — whether recovering, moving, or switching aged care providers. Government Home Care Packages include a broad range of services to help you to stay comfortable and independent at home. According to My Aged Care, depending on the level of Home Care Package you are offered, you can get assistance with services such as:. Everyone has a unique level of need, so four Home Care Package levels exist with different Government funding amounts based on the level of need.

Benetas officially amalgamated with Macedon Ranges Health on 1 July Benetas and MRH share a vision of giving every person we care for a positive, fulfilling experience of ageing, and the opportunity to age well in communities of choice and support. We are committed to supporting Diversity and Inclusion for both the people we serve and the people we engage throughout our services. Sandra Hills joined Benetas in with career experience in local and state government and the not-for-profit sector and has qualifications spanning nursing, psychology, research and business management. With extensive experience in a range of senior financial management roles across numerous industries, Neil brings a wealth of knowledge to the Benetas Executive Team.

She has proudly grown from humble beginnings to playing key roles in a number of organisations. She was previously Manager of Research and Innovation at Benetas, and has worked in a range of research and policy roles in the academic, government, and not-for-profit sectors.

Verity joined Benetas in September , with extensive experience in executive management roles within the industry, including previous positions at Estia Health and Blue Cross as regional and executive manager, respectively. Helen has broad experience in investment management, superannuation and best-practice approaches to sustainability management and reporting.

Deborah Law is a specialist in service and workforce reform, currently working for the Australian Health Policy Collaboration, an independent think tank, focusing on the prevention of chronic disease. A Law, B. Ms Pryor brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board and broader organisation.
